In this workshop we will explore opening the following areas:
hamstrings, quads, shoulders and hips.
These areas are often tight, weak and need some special care.
We will take a look at what needs to be stable in order to see improvements in flexibility and mobility. Props will be used.

Workshop: Wake Up it’s Spring!

Our April workshop will prepare us for this new fresh season.
Focus will be on waking up. Long winters make for some cranky bodies;
let’s wake up our practice with some heat generated from within…
to make our minds and bodies feel clear and open.
We will use some dowels to generate some myoficial release,
getting those tight spots released. 
You will leave feeling fantastic, energetic and awake!

Strength and Softness: A Workshop
Sunday, FEB 5, 9:00 – 11:00AM

Ever wonder how to keep calm when a pose is challenging?
In this workshop we will explore the strength and softness in our practice. Looking at our breath and how it can re-shape, change, and soften our poses while maintaining alignment with strength and ease. We will play with core, shoulder, hip and back exercises to enhance our strong bodies and strengthen overall. Ending with some restorative postures and meditation to feel rejuvenated and energized.

We all have issues in these areas at one time or another due to weakness, tightness or simple overuse.

Lets explore how to open, stretch, strengthen, tone and wake up this often stubborn area of our bodies, including work around the legs and shoulders. Props will be used to help achieve a deeper awareness.

Exploration of Movement and Meditation

Join Katherine Marr and Janice Tokaryk for this urban retreat. 
Sunday June 12th, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm 
$95.00 plus HST
We begin with a gentle yoga class to prepare the body for our seated meditation:
exploration of breath work, various meditation practices, seated and walking.
Teachings from the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, situating mediation
within the practice of yoga.
Lunch is not provided but there are lots of restaurants close by.
Please dress comfortably and for the weather as we will be going outside for a silent walk, rain or shine.
Bring your own yoga mat and meditation cushion if you have. Blocks and belts provided.
Tea and discussion to end our day.

WORKSHOP

Tune-up for hips and back

Tightness in the hips causes many of us to have back pain. In this workshop we will explore opening the hips to release pain and tension. We will strengthen areas to help let go of “stuff” we tend to store in our hip area. Our shoulders will benefit from this work as well. Tune up and notice the improvement!
